prince. survivors are caught underneath the rubble. search and rescue teams are racing against the clock and digging through the rubble, pulling out those trapped for more than two days. last night, a rescue team pulled out one person from this hotel. she stilmanaged to thank her rescuers. >> thank you. thank you for saving my life. >> are you doing all right now? how bad was it in there? very bad. >> 8 d.c. man was rescued soon afterwards. -- a d.c. man was rescued soon afterwards. makeshift morgues are set up in churches. regular hospitals have clouds, leaving thousands desperate for

to plead guilty in court later today. there is a maximum penalty of five years in prison. this play is part of a deal that could keep him out of jail. we will have more details in a live report. we have breaking news out of silver spring. police are searching for a burglary suspect who led them on a car chase. it ended at seminary road. police said one suspect is now in custody. we will bring you more details as they become available. in prince george's county, police are investigating after a man was found dead overnight. police received a call to check on the welfare of a man who was lying in the 5400 block of water street. there was a trauma to his body

and he was pronounced dead at the same. john catoe is stepping down from metro. his retirement will let metro move beyond its current distractions. there was a series of accidents, some of them a deadly. jim graham said the board regrets catoe's decision and they have the board's full confidence. a frederick man is charged with negligent driving after a fiery accident yesterday. a tanker truck overturned yesterday and burst into flames. the driver was able to get out safely. the accident caused massive traffic problems and delays. it looks like conan o'brien will be making an exit from late

trying to get help to haiti. president obama has pledged $100 million in aid and thousands of troops are on th way to help with relief efforts. the red cross estimates up to 50,000 people were killed. gilbert arenas is expected to plead guilty to a gun charge later today. he has been slapped with one felony count. the plea is in exchange for a little or no jail time. up to eight army officers could be punished for ignoring warning signs. a review sites of the officer knew of nidal hasan's erratic behavior but still promoted him. an arlington company is providing images of the destruction in haiti. the company is called fortius

rescue crews, one of course from fairfax, virginia. pamela brown is live with the latest. good morning. >> the stories of survival are offering glimmers of hope. there are 310 american rescue personnel on the ground port-au- prince. there are working with limited resources to treat these survivors because aid is trickling in. as the window for survivors narrows, they are racing against the clock and pulling out those trapped for more than two days. >> she is extremely thursday. >> an american was pulled out from a collapsed hotel. she managed to thank her rescuers. >> thank you for saving my life. >> her colleague was rescued

soon afterwards. the stories of survival give some hopeful. makeshift morgues are set up in churches because cemeteries are filled to capacity. regular hospitals have collapsed or have no more room. >> in the next few days, people are going to be running out of food and water. it is urgent. >> more help is on the way. the airport in port-au-prince is overwhelmed. planes have to circle up to an hour before landing or ever to a nearby airport. aid cannot come soon enough. a heartbreaking situation. >> absolutely. former presidents will lead private sector fundraising efforts. bill clinton and george w. bush.

president obama called them and asked them to help out. we have some breaking news. virginia police have issued an amber color. police believe a young girl may have been abducted from roanoke yesterday. he is believed to be in extreme danger. he may be with three adult males faugh traveling in a white chevy blazer. if you see this boy, you're asked to call police. a police chase started soon after 4:00 this morning. two officers suspects -- officers chased two suspects wanted for burglary. gilbert arenas is due in a
